When it Rains it Pours

Let me first start out by apologizing for the long delay between my postings. It has been on my to-do list for days and days, but I’m finally taking the initiative today. Now, on to the main topic of this posting. Tiger, Tiger, Tiger…. what have you become. It’s truly amazing to see how quickly arguably the worlds most recognized and well respected athlete has fallen to one of the biggest disappointments in all of sports. To give a little perspective, two years ago Tiger Woods had an astounding 83% approval rating across the world, and just in these last few weeks it has dropped to a dismal 36%. One woman after another has come out and described some sort of a sexual relation with world’s best golfer, and with each new woman, more and more respect was lost. From what I know, the total is now up to 11 women. The man has a wife and a child and he has been with 11 other women; that makes me so disappointed and sick.

The whole situation has also made me wonder what would have happened if he never had his little car accident. Would all of this still have come out? Or would it still be an enormous secret? I suppose we’ll never know for sure, but if I had to guess I’d say that the whole situation was a ticking bomb waiting to explode. The reason I say this is mainly in light of how peculiar the whole car crash situation was. I have come across many different theories, but there is one that I have found to be the most detailed and logical. This theory stated that Tiger’s wife, Elin, had woken up at around two or two thirty in the morning because the baby was crying and needed to be fed. At this point she found a message on Tiger’s phone from one of his numerous other women and she freaked out. She went into their bedroom and confronted Tiger with what she had found, possibly hitting him, which would explain the marks on his face. In a rush of confusion and terror after just waking up, Tiger stumbled to his car in his pajamas and tried to drive away. Now, it has been known that Tiger takes sleeping pills, such as Ambien, which would explain why he wasn’t even able to drive the car out of the driveway before crashing. I mentioned that Elin most likely cut up his face because despite his claims that the cuts were from the accident, he was driving so slow that when he actually crashed, the airbags didn’t even deploy. Finally, there is the issue with Elin and the golf club, which they said she used to break the rear window in order to get Tiger out. However, I find this hard to believe as well and instead think that Elin was chasing him with a golf club when he got into the car and smashed in the back window as he was driving away. I understand that it’s a lot to take in and that for all I know, this theory could be 100% wrong, however, it is the one that I personally have found makes the most sense. If any of you have heard even better theories I would love to hear about them and urge you to leave them in a comment.

Tiger Woods will never be the same man. He has forever altered his image in a terribly negative way and I couldn’t be more disappointed. Especially him of all athletes! This was a man that not only I, but millions of other people looked at as perhaps one of the classiest, most respectable, and talented athletes to ever play any sport. Yet, because of poor decisions and sheer ignorance, Tiger Woods has successfully brought down his own legacy. He has now made a name for himself not only as a great golfer, but also as an unfaithful liar. It is so unfortunate that many, many people will now remember him not for the success on the golf course, but instead the failure he has had in his personal life. He has let down his fans, his peers, his friends, and most importantly, he has let down his wife and child. I’m sure Tiger’s dad is rolling over in his grave right now and would be terribly disappointed in his son for what he has become. If only Tiger had thought of the millions of people, including a large number of children, that look up to him and see him as a role model. If only he had appreciated his wife and had stayed true to that oath of marriage. I could go on with “if only” all day, but the fact of the matter is, Tiger Woods has fallen, and he will never return to supreme status that he once held.
